FAQ
We have no photos. Can you help us with that?
Yes. I can recommend photographers who will travel to you and shoot amazing photos with a keen artistic eye.
I have no idea how to ‘speak design’. How do I communicate ideas I might have for the book to you?
Images speak more than words! Typically, I set up a shared Pinterest board, where we save ‘pins’ (images) together that show what we like. That way we get on the same visual page and we can discuss and refer to those pins.
When do I get to see the book design?
Generally, you get to see a sample design in pdf form early on, just so we can tell if we are going in the right direction (before we design 300 pages). The sample design is based on our conversations, research, the Pinterest board, and uses actual written content and imagery, so it should be close to what you are looking for. Additionally, you get to see, read and sign off on the entire book before it goes to press. We share pdf files for these purposes. Make sure you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed.
Do you proofread the book?
Yes and no. At the beginning of a project, it is your responsibility to provide us with final proofread text. After that, and during the design process, we take great care to avoid any human text errors on our end, hence we do spell check and match our documents against the text you provided. When we share the pdf for your final sign off, it is important that you are aware that you are signing off on spelling as well as design before it goes to print.
