FAQ
How do I know if my logo needs restoration?
Send it to us. We’ll take a look at it. Chances are if you do not know what a vector file is, it will need to be restored.
What is the difference between logo creation and logo restoration?
If you do not have a logo or brand, we can create one for you – that’s logo creation. We brainstorm logo ideas, come up with original ideas and show you options.
But maybe you have a logo and brand already? It’s just that the logo was made in the last millennium. It may have been considered really high resolution back then. But technology has advanced, and so must the designs that go along with it. The higher resolution screens of today demand that the logo file also be higher resolution to display clearly. And here is where logo restoration comes in. We re-draw your logo as close to the original as we possibly can, as a vector file.
What is a vector file, and why do I need it?
A vector file is always sharp (in focus), regardless of the size or the medium. You can use one and the same vector file to print on a stamp or a jumbo jet. From a vector file, all other file formats can be created, for example for merch, websites and social media. It is a source file for your logo. Here is the scientific explanation: ‘Vector graphics is a form of computer graphics in which visual images are created directly from geometric shapes defined on a Cartesian plane, such as points, lines, curves and polygons.’
Why do I get folders with different files for print and web?
‘For print’ contains vector files (Illustrator eps files) of your logo in several applicable design variations (some examples are all black, all white, horizontal, vertical, icon only). These master vector files can be used to create any other file type for any application you may need; from your highway billboard or your custom engraved building sign, to a tiny icon in a messaging thread.
‘For web’ contains the same designs, saved out in png and jpg format, ready to send off to a web designer or a designer working on online marketing materials. Note that png files have transparent backgrounds. Jpg files have a solid white background.
What is a Style Guide?
The Style Guide is provided in pdf format. The guide showcases your logo in all its variations, their colors, fonts and uses. This is a document that you can share with other designers or printers working with your logo, to help ensure a more consistent brand.
